We do not allow downloading and distribution of our stories. The Ken is a digital subscription-based product and only those with an active subscription will have access to the stories either on our apps or the website.
Subscribers to our Basic plan can login and use The Ken on a maximum of two devices simultaneously. Each account on our Premium and Premium Duo plans can use a maximum of three devices simultaneously.
We do not offer any cancellations or refunds. If you are facing any issues with the subscription, you can write to us at [email protected]. For any other reason, if you are unable to use the subscription, you can always transfer it to any of your friends or colleagues.
While we do not allow cancelling your current subscription, you can cancel auto-renewal on your subscription for the next cycle by going to The Ken website. Under the My Account tab, click on ‘Subscription.’ Here, you’ll find an option to disable auto-renewal. If this is set to OFF, your subscription will not auto-renew.
You can also unsubscribe from all our emails by going to the 'My Account' tab. Scroll down to find ‘Emails and notifications.’ Switch the toggle OFF to stop receiving all emails from The Ken. To switch off the delivery of any newsletter, please visit http://the-ken.com/newsletters/ and disable the toggle.

If you have subscribed to the Basic plan, you will be able to access only our daily long-form stories, subscriber newsletters, free podcasts, and the archives for the last two years. However, you won’t get our premium newsletters, premium podcasts, visual stories, and the iPad app. Only Premium subscribers get access to all of The Ken’s products and features.

If you’ve signed up for The Ken, you will automatically get access to our 30-day Free Trial, where we unlock one handpicked paywalled story for you each day. However, you will not be able to access other premium stories that are behind a paywall.
The Ken is a digital premium subscription product like Netflix or Spotify. You will only have access to our stories for as long as your subscription is active.
Your 30-day gift subscription gives you access to paywalled stories that are new and also those published in the last 30 days. Please make sure that you have activated your gift from our activation email. Log in with the email address that you have received the gift on and you should be able to read the stories.
All campus subscriptions are managed by your respective college libraries. Please reach out to them for any access related information.
If you’re purchasing from India, we accept all major credit and debit cards except Diners Card, netbanking and UPI. If you’re an international subscriber, we accept only Mastercard and Visa cards.
If you’ve paid for your subscription using a credit card or using a debit card from ICICI Bank, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Kotak Bank or Canara Bank, your subscription is on automatic renewal. You can also find out if you’re on auto-renewal by heading to the My Account section.

Go to the 'My Account' tab, and scroll down to find a header called 'Subscription'. Here, you'll find an option to generate an invoice and send it to yourself. It’ll directly land in your registered email address.
Yes, we have gifting options. You can view the plans here. We also send an email on your behalf with a personalised message along with the gift subscription.
As a premium subscriber, you get three 30-day subscriptions that you can send as gifts to anyone you’d like at no extra cost to you. You can do this from the My Account section.
If you are on a Basic plan, you will get five story gift credits added to your account every month. You can use each gift credit to share one story with anyone you like. These credits, if unused, will lapse at the end of every month and be replenished on the first day of the next month.
If you are on a Premium plan, you will get 10 story gift credits added to your account every month, which means you can share 10 stories with anyone you’d like. These credits, if unused, will lapse at the end of every month and be replenished on the first day of the next month.
You can change your email address in the My Account section. Please also read the question below on how you can ensure that our emails always land correctly in your inbox.
If you have lost access to your account and are not able to use the forgot password option, please write to [email protected] from your registered email address. We can set a temporary password for you.

Here are some things you can do to always ensure that our emails are landing in your primary inbox:
1. For both Gmail and Outlook, you can right-click on the email and select ‘Move to’ and then click on primary/focused inbox. You will see a pop-up message where you will have to confirm this action.
2. You can also drag and drop the email from your promotions tab to your primary inbox. When you do this, make sure you click ‘yes’ on the confirmation pop-up.
3. You can also add us to your address book. Just open any one of our emails, click on the name (The Ken) and you will see an option to ‘Add to contacts’.
